Founded in August 1997 by members of the Islamic Center of Northeast Florida (ICNEF), Al-Furqan Academy is a private, non-profit, full-time Islamic school registered with the Florida Department of Education. The school currently serves 270+ students from Pre-K through grade 12 on Jacksonville's Southside.
The academic program pairs Quran, Arabic, and Islamic Studies with core subjects (Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies) plus Art and Physical Education. Al-Furqan has adopted the SAVVAS curriculum, aligned to Florida's B.E.S.T. State Standards. Families may apply Step Up For Students scholarships toward tuition.
Al-Furqan Academy's academic program pairs a full Islamic studies track with a college-preparatory core. Islamic subjects are integrated across the day, and the academic curriculum follows Florida's B.E.S.T. State Standards using the SAVVAS program.

Al-Furqan Academy reviews applications for Pre-K through grade 12. The exact process — forms, placement assessments, interviews, and deadlines — is managed by the school directly. For current requirements and any mid-year openings, contact the admissions office.
Al-Furqan Academy publishes a single K–12 tuition rate. Florida families can apply Step Up For Students scholarship funds toward tuition, which can substantially reduce out-of-pocket cost for eligible households.
Tuition and fee schedules are set by the school and can change year to year. Verify current rates on the school's tuition page before applying.
Al-Furqan Academy operates under a leadership team working in coordination with the Islamic Center of Northeast Florida (ICNEF). The academic side is organized by grade band (elementary, middle, high school), and the Islamic program is led by qualified Quran and Arabic instructors.
Names and bios of current administrators and department heads are not published here. For the most up-to-date leadership roster, see the school's own staff page.
The Quran program is the best in our city — my daughter memorized Juz Amma in her first year. Teachers genuinely care, and the community has become like family. The middle school facilities could use an update, but that's the only meaningful critique I have.
Jazakum Allahu khairan, Sr. Fatima. We're so glad Maryam has thrived here. Regarding facilities — we broke ground on a new middle school wing this month and expect to complete it by August. We'd love to show you the plans at the next parent coffee.
Solid academics, warm community, and my kids feel genuinely seen. High school curriculum is rigorous — my son is thriving in the AP track. My one wish would be more extracurricular variety, especially for boys who aren't into sports.
